Heating the 55 Gal.

Hi I have a 55 gallon tank for Spike, I am currently using one 75 watt basking light and a 26 watt Repti Glo 10.0 compact. The temperature on the basking spot/ hot side is roughly 95 and on the cool side it is roughly 70. How can I raise the temperatures? I am going to return the compact when I go buy the repti sun 10.0 tube and fixture. So I will have an extra socket thing. Could I just use a regular house hold bulb to heat up the tank and add visual light?

Yeah, you can use a regular household bulb. Are your fixtures black with white underneath or silver lining?

Yes, an ordinary household lightbulb (not cfl) will work just fine. Experiment with different wattages to achieve the desired temp. I actually found Phillips Duramax indoor flood bulbs at the 99cent store that work great! I bought a bunch of the 75w ones, which is just right for my needs. cheap and they come in several wattages.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
