Hello!
I recently set up my beardy enclosure in prep for bringing home my baby beardy this weekend.
The problem Im having is that when testing out the temp I cannot get them high enough, even about 5 inches below the light Im still only getting about 95deg. I have a zoo med ceramic fixture with black shield and a halogen bulb inside. the bulb is a 50W but one of the new ones that are supposed to give off more light with less energy. This 50W bulb is supposed to have the same output as an old 75W.
Anyways, did I get a dud? should I up the wattage? or just suck it up and buy one of the expensive bulbs specifically for reptiles?
