Heating dubias with lights?

well since it got colder i ordered a heating pad along with other things. thing is that it will only arrive in about a week.
can i use a regular house 75 watt to heat these guys up while the heating pad comes? i know they don't like the light too much, but will they still breed and such with light present? thanks!

You will be fine until it comes. They will go into darker places to breed. :wink:

i feel more comfortable using a light rather than a heating pad on 24/7. Do you think it would be alright to either use one of the black light bulbs, or one of those nocturnal infrared heat bulbs?

In my opinion, with those options your best bet would be one of the ceramic heat emitter on a thermostat. The less light they have the happier they will be, and faster they will produce.

okay sounds good i'll look into that more. Are the only heat bulbs like that sold at the pet stores or can you pick them up from walmart for alot cheaper?
