I am making a new viv for Roran and was about to start on it when I fell in love with a little beardie at a Pet Store. Roran is very chill and this little guy at the store was glass dancing all over the place to get my attention. When I held him he just kept licking my hand giving me kisses for picking him up. So now I need to make a double stack quick to I can get him before somebody else does! I read somewhere that you might have to leave space between the viv to keep heat from rising to the other one but I cant find where I read that. How much space needs to be between them if at all? I am also having a hard time finding the uv lighting fixture at home improvement stores that house a T-8 light, they only have them for T-5, anybody know where to go in NC for these?

I'm using the little spot lights from Home Depot for outdoor lighting, Lowes has them too. It has the little fixture that screws into a circular plate and is hard wired to a switch. I can take pics if you would like.

I'm building a triple stack right now and I bought that aluminum coated bubble pack insulation. I also cut strips of wood the width of the enclosure and chamfered the edges so it would fit in the top back corner and make a small triangular dead space for my wires. In the cage side of the wood I'm going to drill 2" holes and use the white round vents, then ventilate from the back with a fan of some type. It will basically be acting as a little duct. I can get pics of that too when I get it put together. Cheryl

I found the lights, thank you. I would like to see a photo of how you are housing your wiring, thats the part I am most worried about. My grandfather was an electrician so my Dad knows a few things and said he would help. But I like to know what I am doing (kind of a control freak on this, I want the homes to be perfect). I am going to get perforated metal for my venting which will be 6" x 4' at the top back of each cage. Thank you very much for your help!

I plan on taking pics as I go but I haven't had as much time as I would like to work on it. The wiring will be last so it might be next week sometime. I'm having a hard time deciding how I am going to face the front of the setup. I don't have any plans so my mind goes crazy with ideas. I've done the crossfire style with modifications to 6 other enclosures I built, getting better each time. I also plan on at least one sliding door in the front that is screened or fully vented, it's just too hot here. This is the first condo so I have too many options and can't make a decision. I will soon though, dragons are growing like weeds! I'll post pics as soon as I can. Cheryl

It will be a couple weeks before I get to lighting, I just got all my pieces cut. You should try downloading Google Sketchup so that you can visually see how your viv will look and know the exact size of each piece. It is helping me out tremendously! I can't wait to see your babies!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
