Hi iv had my bearded dragon for about 4-5 months now and hes pretty big in his 20g and im gonna upgrade his enclosure to a 40g. I have my entire plan out financially and everything i just have a question so i plan to use excavator clay as substrate this time (used paper towels for his 20g) and ive used a heat pad for him just because i think its a little extra for him and i think he likes it. My question was do i need this? If i could have this would it work with excavator clay as the substrate? And if not what other way could i allow this to work thanks.

Heat pads are not needed. They don't really feel heat on their bellies. This is why heat rocks are a big no-no since they can burn themselves without realizing it. They just regulate heat from the top of their head and back.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
