Heat lamp question

Hi I'm currently building a new Viv 4x2x2 my question is what is the best light yo use for heat? Regular or halogen. And flood or spot, one will be for my 3.5 year old male beardie and the other will be a 2 month old baby (in separate tanks ofcourse).

Also I have a 34" Arcadia tube light should I mount this at the front or back of my Viv? My beardie tends to hang out closer to the front where the glass is

You put the UVB near where they basking. And for heat it really doesnt matter as long as its bright WHITE light. Clear household bulbs are sufficent, thats what most of us use. Trial and error of wattages to get the temps you want.

In using a Arcadia 34" I'm just wondering does it matter where I mount it on the basking side? Front or back

No as long as he can get within 6-8inches of it. I use a halogen flood light on a dimmer as a basking light and it works great.
