Head tilt

Out of my last six baby beardies from my clutch i have a baby that has a sevre head tilt. She/he can only run in circles, or tries to move and just ends up rolling over, there are 3 others in the tank and there has only ever been 4 in the one tank at a time, im worried about this little fella and dunno what to do, any suggestions in what is causing this?? also at the moment, a vet isn't a option right now im hoping in a couple weeks to be able to afford it if this is still a problem.

Is the problem congenital or was it induced (perhaps by a fall or tankmate)? It sounds like there might be nerve and/or brain damage, but I'm no expert. Is it able to eat at all?

both parents are healthy with no problems as far as im concerned.
And Yesterday he was able to eat, im just going to feed them now so i'll let ya know

It could also be a calcium deficiency, or dehydration. Do you know if the mother was calcium deficient?
What are the temperatures & humidity in the tank?

im not honestly sure if she is, i know she had some problems during her second clutch and got dehydrated, an really skinny, but calcium deficiant not sure. An there tank is about 105-110, and also he can straighten his neck out, but cant hold it straight for very long

Hm...was he born this way (lady gaga style)? If he's eating, he may be able to survive this. He may just end up being one of those special beardies who needs a little more attention than your average one

well he can eat i just watched him attack and eat a bunch of crickets. But do we know what can cause this he is still really cute though

Like Tracie said above, it could be due to the mother not having the proper nutrition to produce a nutrient rich yolk for him, it may be something wrong with his genes, it may be due to difficulties getting out of the egg, it may be due to him getting stuck on something or fallen somewhere. How old is he?

He will be 9 weeks on friday.

It would help to know if it was born this way or if this is something that developed after birth. It could be anything from a birth defect to it losing a fight with a sibling. What are you using for a UVB source if anything? This could also be the onset of MBD.

We are using a mercury vapour bulb. 100 watts i believe, and also have a uvb reptism 1.0 in it. he was not born with defect it just appeared in the last couple of days

Hello,

Which mercury vapor bulb are you using? What sized tank is he in, could it be overbearing for him in a smaller tank?
How close is it to him? If it is a 100 watt bulb, it needs to be at least 12 inches away from him for safety.
If he just developed these problems, then it is most likely going to be his environment.
It still could be dehydration or a calcium issue as well.

the tank he was originally has a repti sun 80 watt i think it is, and it was about 12 inches. there was four in a 33 gal tank. now he is in with 2 others with a 150 watt repti sun buld 15 inches away, and a 33 galon tank, and no addition uvb
