So the past couple days my dragon has looked like his head and tail are going to shed, his head is very white but its been like 4 days and nothing seems to be shedding or coming off. Its the same with his tail, just wondering if this is normal because when he sheds his body he will do it in like a couple hours and he will have gotten it all off. Just wondering if its taking too long or there is something im not doing to help him. i spray him everyday, i cant really give baths because he is a rescue and still in taming process. And he hates when i spray him, but what else can i do, ya know?

You really shouldn't spray in the tank. Even if he flares up, he still really needs baths for hydration. Try to get him into one - it might even be a good bonding opportunity. They can take a while to shed - my guy can take a couple weeks before it finally goes, especially since it is so dry in the winter months.

You can use a gentle toothbrush to help start the shed. I use it for both of mine. It also helps get rid of old shed.

Whenever my boys are shedding I give them longer baths and assist them in getting it off partly because I want to help and partly because I don't want a bunch of crumby shed to clean out of the tanks later ha.

Please don't "help" them shed - you can cause serious damage to the scales underneath. They need to shed on their own. The bath is good to help loosen it, but don't pick or peel!

No you don't pick at it. You just gently rub it it helps them lossen the shed from the tail and feet

I wasn't responding to you Brittani, I was responding to jaycobain, who posted after you!

You shouldn't even do that honestly. The toothbrush should really only be used on a very stubborn shed, or one that has taken a very long time. It is best if they do the whole thing themselves.

I don't use a tooth brush..I only rub them gently in the bath with some shed-ease in the water. Our rescue doesn't shed at all because his previous owners had him without UVB for 2 years.

I gotcha. Okay, that makes more sense. Just wanted to make sure you knew that you could damage the scales underneath if you force the shed. Glad you know your stuff :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
