head-bobbing

so i put my female and male in one cage, but the female does a slow head bob and has a slightly black beard, while the male always has a black beard. I have never noticed any arm-waving from the female. whats up of the female doing the head-bob/pushup? is there something wrong?
thanks
---the first time i put them together the did it, but i wasnt completely sure it was successful, so i have continued to keep them together
also, the female is alot more active than the male and will eat the food immediately, whereas the male will just watch me put the food in the cage and sit there doing nothing, but i do not want to seperate them during eating times....will the male soon try to gain dominance and eat as well or will he continue to not eat and stay still? he also tries to wall climb all the time....is that b/c of the reflection?
srry for all the questions.... just a little confused
thanks

If your trying to mate them your best bet is to leave her in with him for about 1 week, then remove her for a week, back together for a week, and separate for good. With her being in there with him it may be stressing him out causing the black beard all the time and him not to eat. After that you'll want to wait 20 - 30 days because that's how long the gestation period is. Don't forget if it takes once there is a possibility that she can lay again from retained sperm.

I hope I helped. :D

my female and male do the same thing, and my female just laid her first clutch. She first started doing the slow motion head bob, when we thought she became pregnant sure enough a week or went by and she was. from what i understood thats their way of comunicating

Do NOT leave the male in with the female, he will breed her to death or they will fight and kill each other. Separate them ASAP. If you're trying to breed, please do read the sticky at the top of this section to make sure you're prepared for the tremendous cost of breeding beardies.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
