He Does Exist!

I joined this site about a month and a half ago because we were taking in a neglected adult bearded dragon. As we found out he had been living without proper lighting, poor nutrition, and he was dehydrated. Most of all, he hadn't been handled in about a year and a half. He was pretty aggressive-lunging at my hand when I put it in the tank and biting if I had to pick him up (drew blood through gloves!).

Anyway, we've been working on socialization and getting him healthy. We certainly have more work to do but he's making progress! Unfortunately, I didn't take any before pictures mainly because I didn't want to bother him with that until he was more comfortable with us. So tonight we snapped a couple while feeding him. Please forgive the horrible quality-we took these in our basement at night with my husband's iPad. I'll get some good ones up soon!

Thanks to everyone for all the info on this site-whether you know it or not, a great deal of you have helped me learn how to take care of this boy (formerly Spike, now Gimli) through many of the posts you've made on here. :notworthy:

Worms! And a giant looking belly! He's not usually this big-I think it was a combo of his position and a big dinner.

Me thrilled because I'm holding him and he's totally chill!

That first picture is hilarious! It's like he's irritated because he doesn't have what he wants. He's like "Well, where is it?!"

Thanks, guys! Sorry I haven't replied in a while...things got busy with work and getting the garden ready for the year (planting some beardie food in the form of collards!).

He still has his cranky days but he's doing so much better. Beardie parents, you are so right! If I don't get his bowl filled fast enough he starts getting impatient-I get some angry looks sometimes! He's hilarious-gotta love them!!
