I have had flex for about 2 weeks now. He was eating good the first few days I had him. He was about 3-4 from the UVB when I first brought him home. His branch was running parallel to the light. Then since he was getting lethargic and wouldnt open his eyes, I thought maybe he had photo keratoconjuctivitis? I turned the UVB light off for 2 days and he seemed to improve. I turned the UVB back on but kept him about 9-10 inches from the light. The box states UVB will reach 20 inches away (I think thats crap)
Today I came home and he doesnt look so good again. I mixed him some chicken baby food w/acidopholous and his calcium powder; then took him outside for about 10 mins until he started gaping and stressing out. Now i have arranged his light to be 6 inches directly ABOVE him. His color has really improved (usually he is dingy and black). He is still alert, will open his eyes slightly when I walk by but then closes them again.
40 gallon breeder
paper towels
paper on inside to reduce reflection
basking brick
108 taken with digi thermometer
reptisun 10.0 tube (6 inches from site)
repcal w/vit D (pink brand)
When I was syringe feeding all this time, I never added the calcium. I am unsure if he has the beginning signs of calcium deficiency?? No twitching, swollen jaw or deformities. Just lethargic and not eating on his own any tips or advice?
