Harry VERY stubborn

So I got up this morning and my husband had turned Harry's light on and got him up for the day. I made his salad and gave him fresh water in his "pool" and he sat there looking at me like I had 12 heads. I talked to him and told him to go eat his salad and he could come out later after I got back from the store, he needs worms, and to be a good boy. He walked over to his salad and looked at me. He refused to eat it. I put my hand in his viv and got a piece of Kale and he took it from my hand. So I proceeded to get a few more pieces and he took them from me. I started to walk away and he bashed his head into the side of the viv and opened his mouth. So, I grabbed his piece of watermelon, which he LOVES, and he took it from my hand. He is at the stage he wants to be hand fed, grrrrr. So I took him and the dish out and sat with him and had to feed him his breakfast. He is such a brat!! He made me pat him for a little while and I put him back in his cage and he is basking like a good boy. We are heading to store to get him some worms in a few, but I REFUSE to hand feed those so he had better eat them on his own!! I am definitely a beardie slave!!! Got to love him!!

Ya, tell me about it. Oh well I treat him like he is my baby so I can get used to it. I can consider it our bonding time, lol. At least this way he knows that every day we will be outside the viv even if only for a few minutes to eat. I think I can do this if it makes him a happy beardie!!

Tee Hee! You can even see it in his eye in the picture you posted! He looks like, "Oh yeah. I have her so wrapped around my claw!" I recognize the look because my boy Frankie gets the same look and it's true. Join the ranks of those who spoil their dragons! Hard not to, isn't it? :roll:

Oh, no!!! I just started hand feeding Myah! I love our time together but hand feed every meal!? :shock: It'd take a hour! I can't not do it though. Sigh... she wins. :wink: Dang it! Why are they so flipping cute!? Harry's a really nice looking dragon. btw

Well I've bonded with my daughter! LOL! But we've known eachother since before birth :mrgreen: Myah (beardie baby) came to me as an adopted adult. It's been very slow going. Love today, Leap tomorrow :roll: Worth it though :wink: Have you had Harry from a 'itty-bitty-babe?'

No, I actually have only had him about a month now. He was supposedly 18 months when we got him, from people that kept him in a boring cage and only fed him collard greens When we got him he loved being held and taken outside and was thrilled at the new foods we offered. His fave is watermelon and Kale, lol. I wish we had him as a baby, but I treat him like he is a baby and it drives everyone around me crazy.

Aw, that's really sweet. I'll get there with Myah. Everyday gets better. I hear ya though, I wish I had just one baby pic of Myah and I really wish people would stop calling her 'that lizard' as in 'there goes mommy/my wife, with THAT LIZARD again. Oh, well. More beardie cuddles for me! :mrgreen:
