Handling Woes

Handling used to not be an issue with Bane, but lately (past few weeks) he has been very temperamental about me trying to pick him up. He is very active, has a very healthy appetite, eats from my hand, let's me mist him and pet him, but as soon as I go to pick him up he runs off. I was wondering if it was just a phase or if it's cause for concern. I've gotten him out a few times and once he's in my hand he's fine, so I don't know what the deal is. I did read that if they get too hot they can get kinda fussy, so I was wondering if that might be the problem. His basking area is around 110°-111° and the cool side is around 80°. He's a little over three months old now.

Sounds like puberty has hit. Most dragons go through a bratty stage where they start becoming difficult to handle. Keep holding him and don't let him get away with being a brat.

Haha, well that's good news. My sister was just chalking it up to his "terrible twos". Guess she was right.

He's getting a lot better. Some days he'll be a little fussy when I first go to pick him up but other than that he's fine. I have him sitting on my desk right now hanging out with me.
