Handling of newbie out of cage

Just wondering how long people have their bearded dragons out of their cage at a time , or how many times a day ?
Our new leatherback is around 4 months old now and getting quite comfortable being around us.
Was going we were inyeracting with him enough and he wasn’t getting lonely in his cage by himself.
Didn’t want to over do it also.

Depends on the hatchling. Some are really sweet and love being on their human's lap, tummy , chest and are all too happy the snuggle into you and are very relaxed and easy to handle.

Others are real livewires and can be challenging to control (wont sit still for more than a few seconds before something grabs their interest and they want to explore / investigate and crawl off / leap off.

I start off a few minutes per day with the livewires/ skittish ones , and always offer a yummy treat each time I take then little lizard out, they soon learn to associate you and being handled with pleasure , and they soon learn they can trust you.

Ordinarily a pet lizard will let you know when it's had enough .... will start wanting to crawl off you.
