I am using a 50w halogen bulb for Stanley's basking area, and it's really working out nicely as far as keeping the basking temp at around 105-110.
The problem is, I am really paranoid at how HOT the bulb itself gets. I have it in one of those smaller-sized aluminum-domed clamp lights from Home Depot.
Is this okay? It's not going to like, melt the fixture or start a fire or something, is it?
If it's not the safest fixture to have a halogen bulb in, what is?
