Half of Tail Very dark color opposed to other half.

Lazarus' tail has two very different pigments, that seemed to just have appeared out of nowhere. The end half of his tail is very dark brown and the half closer to his body is a tan like the rest of him, any ideas of what this could be? I will try and post pics in the morning!
