my stupid kitten pulled my light fixture down off of Calyx's tank this morning and when it hit the ground it burnt out... I don't get paid til Saturday and don't have money for a new light immediately...

How long is too long without a light? Should I be harassing a family member for a loan until I get paid!?

Bad kitties can wreak havoc on reptile set ups ! So do you have any of the regular old fashioned incandescent bulbs around ? Any of your lamps or ceiling bulbs like this one here ?

Those will work just fine....if you don't have one you can get them at Home Depot/Lowe's or Walmart, or you could go with a medium watt halogen bulb.

I borrowed money from my brother for a new light thank god!
I never knew you could use regular light bulbs like that!

Another question I have now is whether or not fluorescent lights (like this)

emit UVB light or not?

For UVB you're best off with a fluorescent tube or a mercury vapor bulb rather than a coil because they provide a wider, more even output which makes it easier for a dragon to bask.
