I also live in Florida, I am hopeing it all blows over though. I would find someone you know whos power usually stays on and see if they could take them for a few days. I'm not to worried my self since our power never goes out durring huricans. Knock on wood. But hopefully it wont come to that.

I also live in Florida, if the power goes out, then they will be without heat or UVB for a few days. It is stressful but shouldn't hurt them.

*EDIT*
Just checked and the hurricane has swung north and will not even enter the gulf. It looks to hit around North Carolina.

The thing with hurricanes is until it passes over the islands, nobody really knows where it's going. I'm also in Florida and I always stock up on those hand warmers from the sports store in the winter and keep them with the rest of the stuff for my animals. After the storm you can always take your babies outside for some heat and UV Rays

Our prayers are with you all in the path of the hurricane but again you already live in a warm climate so keeping your dragon warm shouldn't be to difficult , again those hand warmers sound like a good idea but make sure to cover them so not to warm the belly to much. As for UVB lighting, if you loose electric for an extended period of time, nothing beats natural sun light. Your the sunshine state so I hope it will live up to the name. :D

You have a good point about humidity but in most health concerns, the harm usually come over a longer peiriod of time. So short term conditions may not be optimal but unless they become a regular hindrance, I'm sure your dragon would be able to endure, as long as he/she is normally healthy.

Let's just take it one day at a time.
Still praying for you all.

I was just getting ready to post something about this same thing. I'm in Maryland and was wondering what to do in the case of a long power outage also. Should I change her diet at all if I find that we don't have power for what could be a while? She's only 2 1/2 months old so she's still eating quite a bit of crickets. Would salad be easier for her to digest? Once the storm has passed, I'll be more than happy to take her outside for warmth and sunshine - just wondering if there are any other changes I should plan on?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
