I have a bag of guinea pig food that I have no use for. I was wondering if this would make a decent base for roach chow? It is Min 20% Protein, Min 4% Fat, Max 15% Fiber, and Min 150 mg/lb Asorbic Acid (Vitamin C). Would this be high enough protein?

I'm sure. I usually use dog kibble or even turtle pellets. Supplement it with fresh veggies and fruit and you're set. It doesn't take much.

Hmm. I don't think that's enough protein. Maybe someone can correct me on this, but you may need something 30% or higher. Otherwise they'll start cannibalizing each other.
I'd say use it as your base, but mix in some cat food as well? That way you're covered.

I feed low protein feed for my roaches. I believe it is healthier and better for the roaches. All the feed that I use is in the 14-16% protein range. The higher protein will get them to gain weight a little faster but at a health cost.

Roaches are able to select different food types to find thier own nutritional balances rather than trying to get all thier nutrition from one food source so variety is key. Always leave protein for them and offer a variety of veggies/fruits. Although roaches don't necessarily get alot of protein in the wild I think they should need a nutritional "boost" because protein and carbs are used up when they molt(especially when they molt to their final adult form) and I think breeding(larger/fatter the female the more babies right?). Kinda like how Athletes need specific diets different from us.
