Grrrrrr Walmart

I've been trying to find a longer fluorescent fixture for a 6500K bulb for Richard's viv (right now it's just 18" and only brightens up half of his tank) but why the heck is it so hard to find fixtures and bulbs that are compatible? I've found 24" GE 6500K (daylight) T12 bulbs at Walmart, but all of their 24" fixtures are T8s. I can't seem to find 24" T12 fixtures anywhere! Also, every single 18" bulb I've gotten from Walmart (they're all GE) has flickered with the exception of the one I kept. Is there another option?

This light is only for brightness. He's got a ReptiSun 10.0 tube and a 65 w incandescent for UVB and basking.It still seems dark in there though, so I got the 18" but it's not even half as long as the tank. He never goes to the dark end of his tank.

Any suggestions?

Personally, this is what I would buy if I needed to add light but no heat or UVB.

You could also find a fixture that holds two T8 bulbs. Plop the reptisun in one slot and an earthLED t8 replacement in the other.

most t8 fixtures actually fix t12 bulbs its just a tight fit

i build alot of fish tanks and thats always what ive done/used

I was hoping that was the case. I might give it a shot. I can always return one or the other. Thanks for the info!
