Growing Question?

Hi guys.

I have two beardies who you may already know, Fiz and KD :D

I was wondering if they were growing at the right rate. I know all beardies are different, but my two seem kind of small. I got them both in October of 2011. So approximately... 7 months. When i got them, they were maybe... 4-6 inches long (KD is about an inch bigger than Fiz). Fiz has a slight tail nip but nothing too big too major. Maybe around a centimeter is missing. Anyway Fiz is a little bit over 12 inches and KD is 13.5 inches. I was wondering if babies that were between 7-8ish months at these lengths were growing at the right rate.

They both have reptisun 10.0's. Which brings me into another question, when should I replace the reptisun bulb? I wasn't sure if it's 6 months or 8 months. If it's 6th months than Fiz is due for a new bulb as of now. I got the reptisun in November, so then I need a new one.

Anyway back to the original question... are my little guys at the right size for their current ages? Thanks a lot! :)

If they're eating well and growing, they're doing alright. As you yourself said, they grow at different rates. My leatherback Hyphen had me worried for a little while because he just WASN'T growing - for about six months. And then suddenly, BOOM! Practically overnight he put on another three inches and bust through two sheds in record time. I have his first baby shed after he arrived with us (a whole back skin - he's good at those), and it's weird to think that, once upon a time, he fitted in there...

Replace every 6 months.

I've got an 8 month old who just made it to 15" and he eats well and does grow, just slowly. It's nice to know there's other slowpokes out there though, maybe they're just late bloomers like TheDragonKeepers said :)

He might just be a short dragon waiting for a late burst :)
My Tsammy is a full 22" long (thanks to his German Giant daddy) - but Mocha's only about 13".

oh okay good it's good to hear that he's probably just a slow grower. do you know when they stop growing? Like at what age? I heard two years, which leaves me hopeful that he'll be big one day. lol.

I'm going to order a new reptisun probably next week!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
