I have been reading these forums for a very long time and our family really appreciates all of the helpful info. We have one beardie that is over a year old and its a light colored normal. He/She is named Wasabi and is kinda grumpy LOL. Doesnt like baths, don't carry me, you can pet me but you better not try if I am hungry etc.
I bought dubias from Hondapow3r and we have a huge colony going in a insulated breeder box in the garage. The box was designed for cricket breeding, but it works great for dubias and was superb at keeping temps even in the CO winter. So we have more dubias than we know what to do with and I had my mind set on getting a red beardie next.
Well, we went to Petsmart and they had "Fancy Bearded Dragons" which were supposed to be red, orange or yellow. There was one strange looking guy left that was on sale. It wasn't red or even orangish so I left. Silly me thought about that beardie all night and went back the next day to look at it again. This beardie is very so sweet compared to Wasabi. I made the mistake of holding it and now it has a forever home. LOL
So now we have beardie number 2 (unamed for the moment). I have been scouring the net trying to find photos of another beardie like it to guesstimate what it could look like when it is older but I'm not having any luck. I am pretty positive its a translucent (full black eye, transparent scales with pink flesh that shows through). I can see a yellow color streak above the eyes and it has some green tint to its sides and around the eyes. Other than that it reminds me of a strange baby bird with all the pink showing through. =)
Anyone have experience with a beardie like this? Am I correct that it is indeed a translucent (I know it is not hypo since it has black in the nails)? I'm really dying to know what it might grow to look like! I can't get the images to embed correctly but here's the links to some photos. Thank you for any info you can provide!
