Well today i changed spikes cage, took out that horrible repti-sand the pet store sold me, got some repti carpet now ftw, got his cage cleaned up, well this morning before i made arrangements to his cage i fed him, well he ate about 10-15 criks in about a min, he has never done that before and i havent made any changes to his cage yet, well after i changed his tank, gave him fresh water, i look and his little self is purched on his pertrified wood drinking out of his water dish, has never happened before and saw alot of members on here havent seen it either, well he just drank agine ftw im so happy, he drank from his dish 2times 2day.
On another note, ive had my bd for about 1.5 months, he was abput 5 inches when i got him and danm near 10 inches now, but he has a buddy in the cage with him at the pet store, well he hasnt grown at all, makes me sick everytime i go in there for criks, i always stop by his cage, sucks that he hasnt grown, it just upsets me that the pet store doesnt take better care of their animals, i also told the so called reptile specialist about spike and him not eaiting enough, told them he eats about 20 criks aday and should be more for his age, i told them that bd should eat as many criks as they can in a 10-15 min period and they looked and questioned me like a was a fool, its just horrible the pet store expects to seel pets that arent taken care of well, im just glad i got spike when he had first gotten there, that other bd just hasnt grown at all and it just boils my blood, the only pet store ive seen around me take care of their bd's are very healthy, only thing is that in one viv they have 5 dragons and in the other one they have 3, 3 big ones all 3 of them are over 1 foot long, but back to topic, spike seems to be doing great

It is great to hear that your little guy is settling in and making your heart go pitter patter. They just curl right up in there. As for the pet stores I have never seen one out here where I live that treats their beardies well. It is so upsetting. Unfortunately that's the way it is almost everywhere. We should report them all to PETA

Thanks ya he seems to be doing good, was kinda hard to give him baths at first but the last tie i gave him one he was shedding like 3 days ago, he was swimming, drinking and even pooed for the first time while in his bath lol, and ya the place that really boiled my blood was petsmart, they had 5 bd's all small as hell in a real small viv, well one looked like it just was born it couldnt have been over 4 inches long, seriously i felt like sayin sumthin but you know what will happen, ya i will tell some1 about it, then once i leave they do nothing, kinda pissed me off because 1 of the babies had some of its tail missing, i wish i didnt have 2 rely on these places sometimes, i just hate my money going to them, especailly petsmart, all the money goes to the danm sogs, cats, and fish, nothing wrong with that but if you have other animals, also take care of them/ rant sorry bout that now back to topic lol

Ya its wild and hes only about 3 months old, thats why i kinda fliped when i saw him doing it, got my g/f and my mom to check it out, both thought it was cool as hell and explained why it was, most just never do it, he on the other hand drank 2 times from his dish today, maybe it will become a habbit for him so i wont have to keep droppin water on his nose lol and so i dont have to worry bout him dehydrating

Well guys one agine he drank from his dish, it was holding him, and he was jumping off my hand so i put him back in his cage, he went right to his water dish and there wasnt enough for him to drink, so i added water and he went right to it and took a deep drink, im so happy that my bd is drinking his water from his dish

You're one lucky duck. Brutus will drink if I dip the tip of his snout into his bath water. i think he's learned bath time is the time to rehydrate his insides and outsides.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
