"Homeboy" Smaug on top in the 75 gallon. Citrus at 18 inches and approx 360 grams and 1.5 years old.
On bottom is newly acquired leatherback with a copper color that we aren't positive yet on a name and appears to be male by what I can tell. Also shedding so we haven't seen true color yet. But since Smaug has moved from with 50 gallon (the leatherbacks new home) he's been much more spunky and I'm curious if it's just the new enclosure that he's just running around or if he's unhappy because he does "flash" Blackbeard every now and again when he hits glass. He's also glass dancing and scratching, I let him out but the room is only 70 degrees. I'm ok with leaving him out he doesn't go anywhere but the couch, my concern is that it will mess him up being out of the tank too long. Is he just being a brat now? Or does he know there is another dragon and is getting territorial? It's fine with me it's just unusual from his SUPER lazy self. Little guy seems to be adjusting just fine! Loves playing and already ate a healthy helping of bugs and veggies and made himself at home.

My guess is that he may be sensing the new dragon and getting a bit territorial. That may be combined with adjusting to new surroundings. He will probably calm down after a while. It's OK to have him out of the tank for a little while but I'd keep him in the enclosure for proper lighting. You could set up a portable basking lamp in the room so he can regulate his temperature by returning to it if he wants but I'd still keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't get too cold.

As far as the tanks go, I'd try lowering the cool side temps a little bit if you can to around 75-80. If you can get them down to 80 that should be OK. I'd also replace that red light with either a low wattage bright white light or a low wattage ceramic heat emitter to produce extra heat if needed. The red lighting could wind up disorienting him or causing vision issues.

Ok thanks! Red light has been replaced. This new little guy is undergoing a full torso shed and I can't wait to see his true leatherback color and texture!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
