So I got the two geckos, I named them Luna and Lars. They are both very thin, and small. They have been living off of watermelon >_<.
In comparison to Lestat (my leo that I already had) they are just sooo tiny.
But anyway
I have a question about the female- there is a clear liquid that she lets out of her vent every once in a while. It has no scent- it's just like water.
Has anyone heard of this or have any idea what it might be?
Should I be worrying about this?
Is this a sign that he might lay eggs???

Thanks!

These are leopard geckos? If so, my guess is that she's just waaaay too hydrated from eating nothing but watermelon. I would gradually introduce mealworms and/or crickets into their diet, but not too fast - too much protein too fast could make them ill. Only if they're leo's though... I don't know anything about other types of geckos.

haha yes they are Leos sorry~
I should have been more specific.
so you think I should still feed them watermelon, and gradually introduce the mealworms?
(from what I understand all they have EVER eaten is watermelon... and they are apparently 1.5 years old- I don't understand how they are still alive.)
They smell like corn chips O_O

I don't understand how they're alive either. As a general rule, leos eat no plant/vegetable matter at all... insects only. I would switch over gradually if possible, but definitely start offering insects to them. Once they start eating the insects, gradually reduce the amount of watermelon until they're not getting any at all. Those poor things! I'm so glad you took them in. They'll be much happier now.

Watermelon?! Geez whats wrong with people!?

I agree with Jasper's Mom- slowly introduce insects to them. They are so used to watermelon the protein could be a shock to them.

Do you have any pictures of them? I want to see if they look healthy other than being thin.

Hows your setup?

sorry I haven't replied to this yet, for some reason I didn't notice that there was a reply.
other than being super tiny, these leos look pretty ok.
I have moved 3 times in the past few months, and cannot find my camera now, so I do not have pictures.
The male is doing beautifully, he is growing and his tail is getting big and fat. He ate 15 mealworms tonight!!
But the female is not eating at all, and her tail is actually getting smaller. I am really worrying about her.
I am thinking of resorting to baby food force-feeding.

ALSO, she is kinda digging around a bit, is this a definite sign that she has eggs? because she surely does not look like it??
what do I do in the case that she has eggs? does she need a giant lay box like beardies do? or can I just give her something small to dig around in?

thanks guys.

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?
