So i went to the petshop today to pick up my uro, and they had another one in the same cage and he was just beautiful so i had to get them becasue they both seemed to get along so well. The smaller one is a yellow mali( i think) and the bigger one is a yellow ornate. The pet shop has known me a while and i get alot of things from them so they gave me the mali for 80 and the yellow ornate for 65.

They are in a custom built 48x24x24 enclosure.

the mali's name is scooter and the ornates name is unknown yet but im thinking maybe sunny.

heres some pics:

Cool looking lizards. What are their temperments like?
What is the substrate? It's a nice color.

thanks, cool side is about 85 and basking side is about 115-120. and the substrate is called Excavatot clay burrowing substrate. its perfect for uromastyx becasue their burrowing animals and mine seem to love it, the only thing is that its not sold in stores, you have to order it online.

Is it just the pic or is it a reddish color? The viv looks great!

Of course one can't find it in a store. That would be too easy, LOL

I asked how were their temperments, not temperatures, LOL :D Though it is nice to know what temps they like. ;)
Are they like beardies, or more aggressive? The look at but not touch type?

Thanks, yea i built the tank, it took about a week, but i took my sweet time and cost about 180. which is really good IMO. and sorry, yea they are liek the beardies, a little more bossy then beardies, the smaller oen is a sweatheart, but the bigger one is more of an a-hole. they are extremely active and run around and around and glass dance and never get bored, its pretty funny.

and the substrate is the color of dirt but yes it is on the red side. not liek bright red, more liek a dark brick red.

So they are active ones.. that would be fun to watch.
$180 is a good price. It cost $300 to build a 4x2x2 for Oscar. I need a new enclosure for Calypso but not ready to pay another $300 (and my dh injured his hand and can't build yet anyway)

I think that is what my husband used to build the tank, LOL.. somehow our prices are different. ;)

Be really careful housing uros together. You run into the same problems with them that you do with beardies. They can and will often fight to the point of seriously injuring each other, even males and females. The best grouping for them is one male to two females IF there is no aggression. Sometimes that can come from the female, but two males are particularly proned to fighting. Just a thought.

One looks just a little thin. What was the pet store feeding them? What are you feeding them?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
