A month ago my fiancee and I split up, and he took guido with him to another state. I am completely heartbroken. I tried to be strong, but anyone who has seen my links knows that that dragon was my everything. I know he took him to be spiteful, its how he knew to hurt me most. I tried talking to family about it, but I feel like only true beardie lovers would understand how empty I feel now. Maybe one day ill get another beardie baby, but I know none will be able to replace my boy. Sorry for the rant everyone. I just needed to vent to people I knew would understand. Thank you

that's a bad dice roll sorry for your loss there. I can only hope that fool will at least take care of him properly but if not, doesn't help to dwell on it unless you are prepped for a night-time-out-of-state-ninja-rescue-mission.
Other then that maybe you could start investing a little bit at a time into a new setup and start talking to breeders until you think you're ready to get another dragon?

I'm so sorry that happened, people can be very selfish. Sometimes it is better to just let things go and not let the people trying to hurt you get the satisfaction of knowing they got to you. I know it is hard, but hopefully your ex will take good care of him and since you are a member here, I am sure you showed them the best way to do everything.

i am sorry you have to go thru that. I had an x that was very spiteful. Maybe after some time he will decide to give him back? Family is great but they dont know how much we love our babies. Give it some time and see if he might return him....or perhaps u may find a lil baby to love. The baby will never replace you Guido but would find a place in your heart and it will have its own little personality that will become endearing. Ive lost animals that are never replaced never forgotten but found love for the new ones in a different way.

Thanks for the support everyone. I have taught him the proper care, and worked really hard to get him to the healthy dragon he was when when aaron took him away from me. This site and all these people helped me. When I first met him, guido was living off of lettuce, and had so little energy he wouldn't even chase down his crickets. I spent a lot of money to make him healthy. Even bought him a new cage setup and lighting that I let aaron keep for guidos sake. I wish things would have gone differently. He freely admitted I had a right to be worried, because he is so irrisponsible with pets. If I find out that he's mistreating my baby boy, the rescue mission shall begin!

wow..just..wow i cant stand how selfish people are sometimes. i think you should point out that you worked really hard to make him better so you have every right to keep him..

Oh geez, that is horrible. Was Guido yours to begin with? I am so sorry. I would think that technically, if he was yours that ou deserve to keep him.
That is just too bad. I am sure it feels like you are empty right now. Usually, the family does not understand those feelings.

Guido belonged to him first. But he never took him out of his viv or even fed him. His step mom did all that. When we moved to our own place he was gonna leave him with his parents, but I wanted him. I would almost understand if he actually cared for him and that's why he took him, but he never showed any interest in him at all. He took him purely to upset me. When he said he was taking guido I completely lost it. I held him for hours and cried for days looking at the space where it viv used to be. I know I should be thankful for the time I had with him. He taught me that a scaley critter can be just as loving and cuddley as any furry pet. I think I can open my heart to a beardie in need when the time comes, but none will ever be able to fill the whole I feel in my soul where guido used to be.

Sweet, we have more back up and I have a bd lovin crew of my own I can bring. Poncho says he will come too, he is pretending to be an alligator today anyways...that's scary right? We are in NC so we are close enough for ninja-ing.

(BTW If you find a way to "reclaim him" the dirtbag might not want to spend the money to lawyer up, as it sounds like you spent the money to take care of Guido)
