Good Morning!

So i am new here and I thought it would be best to pop in and say hi, instead of lurking through the forums like I have been for the past week :p

I work at a Pet Store and have been interested in getting a bearded dragon for a long time. I was planning on waiting however, to make sure I had all the right supplies and knowledge before I found a little dragon to call my own. Fate intervened and after I had to take one of our little guys to the vet last week (necrosis of the tail and one tiny toe), I decided that with all the meds/attention he was going to need it would be easier to take care of this at home.

So we are learning on the fly  I have a lot of info under my belt and we are working on getting his tank set up to be a better environment for him, but so far so good. He's taking his meds every day and he's looking a ton better than he was!

So hi! From me and Randy Butternubs!

Here's a pic of the little guy too - taken the night we got home from the vet. He's doing and looking a lot better now

Hi - welcome to the group. Im new here too (but def not new to beardies)

my only concern is that you are learning the proper setup from a pet store... most pet stores i have been to recommend the wrong stuff for beardies. ie; calci-sand and coil uvb bulbs. Hope you've been making your way around the site and learning the real proper setup. If you have any questions, just ask- in here or the many forums on this site! Randy is a cutie!

Thanks! I love this site and actually, as the manager of the pet store in question, I recommend it to a lot of my beardy enthusiasts that come in. Not all of us are uneducated, in fact a lot of my employees go out of their way to learn as much about the animals we take care of as possible :D

I'm glad you were able to give the little guy a good home and it's great to hear that he is healing! He looks pretty happy in the photo =).

He's doing pretty well, every day he's becoming more active and eating more so I'm hoping that means he's feeling a little better. We have a checkup for next week, so fingers crossed the vet thinks the same as me :)

Thats great Leanne! So many pet store chains give such wrong advise..and im told by emplyees if they say anything, they get scolded. so yeah- very nice to hear!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
