Good enough enclosure?

I'm just checking if my enclosure is acceptable.

It's a 40g breeder, with a regular bulb, CHE, and ReptiSun 10.0 on a screen. I know that the UVB rays get lessened by the screen, so I have his basking areas close to it. The "platform" thing on the right is a brand new addition, I just thought itd be another nice thing for him to climb on. Flooring is spare kitchen tiles and repticarpet surrounding what the tiles didn't cover. I used to use paper towels, but he'd rip that apart constantly, it was a pain to change and clean up.
One thing I am fully aware of though, is that I lack a probed thermometer. I used to use the cheap gauge ones, but then they obviously broke, and my parents haven't really tried to get me one no matter how much I ask, but I brought it up again today and so hopefully that will be a quick adjustment.
And yes, this was taken right at his bedtime after a little cuddling.

Once you get an accurate means of testing the temperature, and you find out your temps are ok, then I would say your set up is good

But until then, it could be bad if its too cold or too hot.

Also, you should look into mounting the uvb inside the tank instead.

It's from the creme brulee sets that Trader Joe's used to sell, we just decided to keep the dishes they came with since theyre sturdy ceramic.

And thanks! Yeah I'm definitely going to bug my dad into getting that thermometer, it's been a while since I begged for something important...

Haha, that's so random. I found mine at a thrift store, and I'd never seen anyone else use them before!

BTW, you can get a good digital indoor/outdoor thermometer at Walmart for $12. The brand is Acu-Rite, and it will tell you the basking spot temps, the cool side temps, and the humidity.
