Going to the Doc's (1st Trip)

I called and made an appointment with the local Reptile Vet. Came recommended by and exotic pet store. I asked for a physical and fecal test. Is there anything else I should ask for to get done with Drago's first visit? Since I am new and do not know the right vocabulary yet lol.

The only concern of mine recently is a coughing noise he makes when he displays his beard full then breaths out very quickly followed by a few BIG swallows so it looks like. Sometimes he will do the swallowing first then display his beard thrust air out and his lungs look like a coughing motion as he jerks followed by more swallowing. There is no mucus or discharge from his mouth or nose and he has been shedding a bit. Drago shed his entire tail yesterday and his head last week. Eats fine except his greens, he hasn't eaten his greens in 2 days now basking, playing moving around fine.

I just need to make sure things are covered and I know what to ask for from the Vet.

I forgot to mention during this displaying/coughing, he like kinda licks the air if that makes sense.

Some vets will suggest a blood test done too. These are a little more costly because it's difficult to get blood from beardies. The reason they'll ask for blood is because it's good to get blood while the dragon is healthy, so when they're sick there is something to compare it to. There is no right and wrong neccessarily when it comes to blood (from what I understand) all is different, that's why it's important to get it done while healthy.

So everything went really well for Drago but he did have pinworms. They gave him deworming meds and told me to redose him in 7 days then again 7 days after that. He went from 106g to 140g!! Good gain I am happy with that.

Awesome! How long was it since he was weighed? I just weighed my dragon yesterday and she gained 24.9 grams in three weeks. I'm guessing that's good... haha

It was about a week ago that I weighed him. Although I am pretty sure he was under weight. According to the growth chart he is under weight a bit still but not bad so I am very happy ATM. Just need to help him get his shedding off his head and one spot on a toe and everything will be 100%. Mineral oil is what the Doc said. Didn't expect that but it makes sense. Oh and a toothbrush on his feet with the oil and or water. She was a great Herp Doc!
