I got my first beardie in February, his name is Pyro and he is a cawley orange x chris allen red/ orange sunburst x red flame, and got my second one this past Saturday, her name i
Angel and she is some sort of hypo, snow, or luesistic.
here are the culprits...

As I was doing my research before buying Pyro I decided I had to have a red and a white one and that's exactly what I got! :D Anyway they had to co-habitate for a few days, 1st day was a kind of rough, second day half the first day, overall it was pretty calm third day.

I am doing this for the love of the animal, I don't expect to get rich with beardie babies. I also don't want to over breed my girl, I looked too hard, sacrificed to pay for her-I got a great deal on her the guy was getting out of beardies and I scored her for 150 bucks (cheap I know but I'm broke now, it was worth it however) And I believe in the fact that my animals did not ask me to buy them it was my choice so it is my responsibility to provide them the best care possible.

My questions are,
Should I wait until after brumation?
What kind of babies am I to expect ?
How violent is too violent?
Would a 55 gallon tank be ok to house the babies in if I put some dividers in it or do I have to use bins?
What other general advice can you give me?

As always thanks in advance for the replies and help.

Advice is easy.
Seperate for now. He WILL over breed Her and YOU will be the one who risked Her life. Im not bashing you or knocking you in any way, but if you have to ask any of these questions you are sooooooo not ready to breed. She seems a little small to breed right now anyway so seperate them use the search feature on this site and take the next 6 months to a year to prepare to breed. 1 mating can yield 3 to 6 clutches of eggs. Each clutch can be from 15 to 35 eggs. 60 babys will eat over 10 thousand crickets a week not to mention proper lighting, greens, supplements, and the bins to put them in. I took over 4 years to build up to the level I am at, and I still dont know everything, nor will I ever claim to. I still need to make another breeder rack. Each rack hold 9 bins at 4 poopers per bin. Thats only 36 poopers PER rack. That could be 1 clutch.

I did forget to say 1 thing. You do have some good looking poopers. :D
thank you, they are seperated now. I had to get a cage ready for her, I know that usually you do that first but it was score her now or miss out, I got back to my table at the show and a couple was checking out my fake rocks as they were just on their way back to get her from the guy. I have done some reading and I'm not sure if anyone is truly ready to breed until they do it a couple times. I'm kind of making sure I'm on the right track before I start. She is supposedly 3 years old and was part of a breeding trio he was selling.
Thanks for responding.

I will get mostly red/orange hypos, or what? And I don't plan on breeding until spring after brumation(unforced) I can handle the expenses, or at least have faith that I'll figure out a way. I always do. I'll breed the crix and I have a roach colony started, maybe I should start another?

You should get some interesting Babys from that pair, but you never know what your gonna get till the egg hatches. When you say the 1st 3 days where kind of rough what do you mean?? He may have bred Her already. I would order your incubator now and make sure she gets calcium more than ussual. Better safe than sorry.

well, he seemed to have to "dominate" her about every 15minutes the first day, 40 minutes the second day, and hourly the third. These "dominating" sessions lasted about 30 seconds. I never saw her tail lifted up. I don't think he had it quite figured out yet, as this was his first time. I'm a big diy'er so plan on building an incubator if time permits.(I will be breeding my 2 corn snakes as well) If time does not permit I know a couple local breeders who would probably trade a baby for some incubator space if need be. I will be sure to watch her size and get her a few extra doses of calci powder. thanks

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
