I'm an overprotective beardie mom, and probably love my little Atticus more than my own fiance' (Much to his annoyance xD), however, It seems I'm being taken off to a mandatory family vacation for approximately five days. Every other year, this hasn't been an issue, but this year it's causing me great stress- Atticus and my Leopard Gecko, Sebastian, are going to stay with my Grandfather for the duration of my trip. Sebastian is a solitary creature who doesn't actually enjoy human contact so much, so it's not him I worry about- It's Atticus. The little fella loves being handled and is a real snuggle bug. My Grandfather does not want to handle either of them, and does not want to do anything aside from turning their lights on and off, and feeding them their meals.
My spoiled boy, Atticus, gets tucked into his personal bed every night and is woken up in the morning and loved on before being placed in his basking spot- he won't get that, on top of being held and out with me while I do things around the house.
Sebastian is, either due to the lack of care his breeder apparently gave him at some point or another (he was severely impacted when I received him), or a natural issue, partially or wholly blind in both eyes- it's hard to tell, although it's obvious that, whether in the dark or with lights on, he has issues seeing around. This means I not only often hand-feed Sebastian (he can eat however, with difficulty, from a bowl), but I put him back in his cave during the day. This was a little off topic, as I'm not so worry about Sebastian, because he can manage on his own for the most part and will be fine, and doesn't like handling because it spooks him as he cannot see well.
So this is mainly about Atticus, and my fear that my little boy will feel abandoned when I leave him and won't get the same intimate care that I give him :c
Does anyone have any comforting stories of similar situations, or reassuring tales that Atticus won't be too bothered by suddenly being no one's special little spoiled boy?
