Hi there, yes it's true that some dragons are just more active. Same with other types of pets as well as kids [ and adults ] That may change as he/she grows so try not to worry too much. I wouldn't remove stuff from her tank unless it's very crowded. Can you post pics of your little monkey as well as her entire enclosure ?
So, plot twist…when I was at Petco getting a probe thermometer I (on a whim) grabbed fake hanging take plants because I’ve tried everything else so, why not? I put them up and checked on her for a few hours, left her basking and when I got home she’s IN the plants
Like, jumped, climbed up and is just sitting in there. But, y’all….she’s not glass surfing. Whaaaaat?? Not sure if she likes it up there or doesn’t know how to get down but I’m giving her a bit to see what happens. Also, she’s had hides in her tank from day 1 and has never used them. Ever. She will sleep on to of her hut, on the side, but never IN. I’ve never even seen her walk in the hides just to check them out so what in the world is this plant climbing that is happening? Is this normal? Is she okay up there all the way at the top? Im attaching multiple photos (one of the over active offender, a few of our tank set up as it is today, one of her IN the plants and one with the marked temp gradient so I can get a check that it’s correct). Current basking spot is 107. Also, a question I thought of today: she usually basks on top of her hut and it’s the spot where basking/uvb are closest together. We use Arcadia Pro T5 12% resting on mesh lid, it’s about 8.5” from her basking spot- should I have a climbing decor item towards the cooler side that allows her to get closer/farther from the UVB? Is it safe for her to get closer to the UVB being the strength it is?
