Glass or Wood viv?

I am going to build by own viv and i have seen many very nice ones that are glass and or wood. Does anyone think one is better than the other? I also wasn't sure if wood decreases stress because he can't see through the sides. The wood seems easier to build but there are beautiful glass ones too. Thank you for any info.

Just based on my own experience with both, I'd say wood. Holds the heat so much better! Also, our Fafnir was a serious glass dancer in the aquarium and now he hardly ever does it...though, I guess that could be because it's a bigger enclosure, too. Plus, it's super customizable!

I think it's a matter of personal preference. I think that the wood does make them feel more secure, and it insulates better (so it's easier to get the temps where you want them).

Thank you so much for all the info. it will help. I think ur right about the wood regulating temps. Im going to post a pic when get all done. I'm going to build it myself :study: without any hubby help. (say a prayer) Will try and post pics as I go, I think this is a great Christmas gift to Zig :love5: .
