My beardie Gizmo, rescued June 15, finally got to see the vet yesterday. His bowel movements have had a horrible odor from day one (clear a room bad). They have also been soft and watery. His fecal test came back positive for Giardia. :( The vet has put him on Flagyl at .15 ml for 5 days. After that I am sending in another fecal sample for testing to make sure treatment worked.

Any advice? Does the treatment plan sound appropriate? Thanks.

Yep, all dragon poo stinks, but with parasites,,,,IT REALLY STINKS!!!! You might want to give your dragon some acidolpholiz to help his tummy.

^ You are so right, and thank you for the advice.

His poop smelled so bad that it would stink up the whole living room. Thankfully the smell has gone down a lot.

Hope your little one gets better quick for you! Mine got over it really well, she did get pinworms a few months later,,,lesson for me on being careful where you get your crickets!! Ran out and bought some from the sporting goods store here in town...bad mistake!!

Update:

Gizzy is all better! His poop has hardly any smell. Big contrast to how it used to clear a room. They are also less watery and better formed. His first stool stample had tons of flagellete. His second stool sample taken after treatment had hardly any, but the vet said that is normal so long as he had improved. So yay!

So.... their poops shouldn't smell at all? My Dolly's poop does smell - but it doesn't clear a room. It also seems to be of the correct consistency. Without going to a vet for a fecal, is there anything I should look for as to indications of parasites?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
