can you guys give me some suggestions for lighting?

i have a 6 week old baby. so i know i have to get his daytime basking up to like 105 right?
but i know i also need a UVB. which doesnt really but off heat.

it seems like i am not doing this right, and i am running out of ideas here.
the white light shown is a reptiglo 10.0 compact, and the infared is a heatglo. which i think i need to keep cause thats the only way i have managed to come anywhere close to ideal basking temp. although it still only hit about 100.

Change out the glo for a Repti-sun 10.0 Tube, and remove the infrared, and replace with a house hold light bulb, 75W. That should take care of your issues :)

I noticed the dial thermometers in your pic, are there what you have been measuring the temp with? If so this could be the issue, they can be up to 20 degrees off! You reallt need a digital one with a probe (about $12 from walmart if you are in the US) leave the probe in place for 45 min before taking a reading.

zebraflavencs had it right, the UVB bulb you have can be really very dangerous. All compact bulbs give off inconsistant UVB emissions, and the repti-glo bulbs are not reccomended for the same reason. The repti sun reccomended is the best in the US, if you are in europe, the arcadia 12% is slightly better.

Beardies also need bright white light to protect their eyes from the harsh UVB emissions, so the red light isnt offering any protection. I like many on hear have made the same mistakes, and once i swapped from the red to a normal household bulb, not only were the temps easier to achieve, but the dragon thrives! so all good (and the household bulbd are cheaper to buy!!)

i switched out the red light. to a 75w soft white. and it got my temps up to about 112 at the hottest basking point(i know this cause i went and bought a digital thermometer :D ). is that too high?
one more thing, what do you think about those black lights for a little bit of heat in the winter?

About the blue lights. I have read and been told as long as the temp doesn't drop below 65 degrees at night you should be ok. If you need heat you can get a ceramic heater that doesn't put off any light, seeing as how light will interrupt there sleeping habbits. Some say they can't tell but like I said to be on the safe side if you need heat at night you can get that ceramic heater which again puts out HEAT NOT LIGHT.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
