Getting husband use to our Beardie, help!

Hey!

My husband I bought a Red Hypo Trans, and he refuses to hold him! He grew up with his mom, who was scared of any and all reptiles. (It's pretty amusing when she comes over, and I'm having my bonding time with Little Foot) Anyway, I grew up with everything.. Iguanas, snakes, rats, mice, frogs, spiders, monitor lizards, and so much more. So, I'm pretty good with handling him. I try so hard to get my husband to hold him, even just to touch him is a difficult task in itself.. Has anyone else had this issue with significant others, or anyone in general..? What did you to do help them open up to them?!

Im not going to be much help, but i can sympathise!
My partner claims he is not afraid but refuses to hold Bug even when I could have used his help to give meds! He says he doesn't hate him he just finds him boring but Im not convinced, he keeps saying he is ugly and fat
I don't understand how anyone wouldn't fall in love. I'm going to keep persevering, I think if i can just get him to hold him it we will get better.

Also just used my partners chia seeds so lovebug can have a digbox. Definitely not going to help the situation. . . Put them back?

My husband absolutely hates my bearded dragon. Insists she's always giving him the stink eye. Tells me all the time he just doesn't understand how I find a lizard cute.

I'm surprised by it myself as Gizmo was our 13 yo much wanted pet until I let him get her; then she quickly became mine as he didn't like holding her, cleaning up her poo or feeding her bugs.

My house is dominated by men & they all hate Gizmo, except the now 14 yo, he loves watching her but that's it.

I never could have imagined such a unique critter capturing my heart.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with issues! Lol. I just don't see how he can't love him, when all he wants to do is this:

I held him for almost 2 hours, let him climb all over, steal my warmth, and just chill while I made some Christmas gifts, go to put him back, and he still wants to cuddle my hand!

When I first got Buddy I was scared out of my mind. I had a horrid experience with a fancy bearded dragon. Buddy and I had a rocky start because he didn't trust me and I wasn't so sure on him. The only thing that helped me is this. Slowly stick your hand in the cage and just lightly pet his back. Or if you have yours tame like it sounds you do then while you hold little foot have your husband pet the back. I am so use to Buddy now the only time he scares me is when he gets up on my head (I'm 6'4" tall) and tries to jump off my head and onto the bed to explore. Any way my daughter is nervous around him so I hold him while she pets him then from time to time I have her hold very still and put him on her shirt. Buddy will climb up and sit right now her shoulder and not even think about moving. It takes a lot of time and patience but after you work with both of them i'm sure he will be fine.

I've tried that, but he won't even touch him. I try everything, I show him how calm he is nothing. I try to come near him with him, and he starts freaking. It's funny, Little Foot's so little and my husband's 6'3", and he's scared senseless of him. And my little 5'0" wants to hold him 24/7.. Lol. It's probably gonna take awhile before he actually touches him..
