Well i already have a 55 gallon tank and my 6 month beardie is in there, and im getting another 55 gallon for free, so i was just curious what reptile some of the forum thinks i should get. I'm not going to get another beardie, so far these are my choices, i need more choices

Tokay Gecko
Lepoard Gecko
Some kind of snake idk which one yet, i dont want it to get that big..
I don't want a crestie or anything, im just lookin for a different kind of reptile, any suggestions??

That depends, there are many kinds of Uro(Mali,Ornate, Egyptian, etc). The only thing I will warn you about is they require intense heat(basking120f) even more then a beardie so if that is a concern then it is not a good fit for you.Mali's usually are on the lower end of the spectrum at about 125-150$ while I have seen ornates go for 600+ a pair.

im considering homing like 3-5 leopard geckos together eventually buying 1 at a time every month or so. or maybe just buy a corn snake.

Leo's are great, but if you want a reptile like a beardie, that you can hold and interact with, then you would want something like a uro or snake. I heard corn snakes are great. But my personal favorite are turtles. I have two rescues and its amazing watching them grow and improve.

You could maybe try a chameleon, a frilled dragon or a blue tongued skink.
A 55 gallon aquarium will not be appropriate for either of the highlighted reptiles.

honestly a 55 gallon tank is not appropriate for a dragon either. They need 18+ inches front to back to turn on. a 55 gallon is 12 inches front to back which can cause severe back problems. so first off the tank you have is not appropriate.

As to what to put in the new tank it all depends on if you want something you can handle. tokay geckos are a display animal not a pet. They are vicious and almost impossible to tame (and they pack a hell of a bite). Based on the tank space you are offering Leo's would be the only real viable option unless you went with a snake and even then a 55 gallon really is just not an ideal reptile tank.

Why dont you want another beardie?
Other poster not all 55 gallon tanks are 12" deep. I dont have on e but my 40 gallon breeder tank for my 18 month old dragon is 18" deep.

Mt soon to be 8 yr old wants a leopard gecko for her birthday and I was actuallly contemplating it (yes I know I am insane) but I am thinking if I get her something maybe another beardie (not that myhouse needs another animal yet( (we also want to get them a dove for fun and their magic illusions too but right now we have
1 beardie, 4 guppies, 1 bunny rabbit, 1 guinea pig, 2 parakeets and 1 hamster. And soon we will have a bess beetle too

40 gallon breeders are a completely different diminsion than a 55. 40 gallon breeder aquariums are 18 inches deep while 55 gallon aquariums are 90% of the time 48 inches wide by 12 inches deep by like 24 or so inches tall.

Thanks! I have a friend who has a 55 and her dimensions are like mine which is why I ask . AS I also know that regular 40 gallon tanks are like you mentioned only 12" in depth

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
