Getting another beardie any issues?

Hi all,

Well after falling in love with these guys of course I want a second one! I have a separate 40 gallon breeder set up I know they cant live together. But my question is can I have them out the tanks together like on my bed? I have a female and want to get a male are they likely to breed if housed separately and just seeing each other daily when out the tank?

Any other issues I should be considering?

They certainly could breed if they are out together. Some dragons can be out together just fine, others will attack each other on sight. I also know you just got your first one. Not telling you what to do or not, but I would suggest that you consider waiting a couple months to really get the care down before you commit to another one. I did a lot of research before I got Max, but I still am learning things about his care all the time, and am only just beginning to feel that I have some mastery over it. Remember if you get a second you need to be able to afford emergency vet visits for both, feed them both, and deal with the stress of both. Sometimes they will stop eating, or one will go into brumation and freak you out. I myself would love another beardie, but I'm glad I didn't get two to start with - I would never be able to keep up with them both haha.

i wouldn't suggest having them both out at the same time.

if there is a size difference the larger one may try to eat the smaller one.
when they are the same size the male will try to mate with the female every chance he gets.

the main concern you will have with 2 beardies is higher electric bills and needing more food for them.
you'll get used to alternating between the 2 for baths and cuddles.

My female tries to bite my male when he is out. So they don't come out together. I don't even let them see each other because she will head bob and will too ( she is a weird female . )

I have an almost 5 month old and and an almost 7 month old, when my youngest was still little they could be out together cause Stubs (7 month old) could care less, not that they played together one would be on me the other on my boyfriend at opposite ends of the bed or couch, now it wouldn't be a good idea. My boyfriend had Stubs out on the computer desk sitting in front of the keyboard chilling and I had baby (5 month old) out I sat him on my boyfriend's shoulder and baby sat there for a minute then went running down my boyfriends arm and jumped on Stubs's back I grabbed baby and Stubs just looked around like hey what the heck you doing. Baby is becoming a man and really doesn't like Stubs, he hates seeing him out of his viv, starts head bobbing (which is new from him, he used to wave, not anymore), he black beards him, Baby definitely does not want to be his friend.

Wow guys all info I never even considered! I would hate to have to limit my time with Princess to put her back to get another beardie out she is my baby lol! Mmm think I may stay with just having one for now I guess sometimes more of a good thing isnt neccesarrily a good thing for beardies!!
