This is one of my dragons. His name is Thor. He was a rescue and he is huge and has a massive head. Can anyone tell by looking at him if he has German Giant in him or is he just a big boy?? The last picture is him when I rescued him 10 months ago. He has made a lot of progress.

i have to just say ...

WOAH you really did an amazing job with this guy!!! the before and after pictures are insane. KUDOS to you and your boy for making it past that. !!!!!!

i would say you just have a a very happy big boy on your hands :)
Males heads have always tended to look bigger than females to me for some reason - i have two girls, it could just be me though.
Im glad you put this up just to see the difference.
I have a rescue too, so i know you put alot ALOT of time and effort into him!
:)

Thanks! I had forgotten how bad he was when we first got him. He was skinny and really dehydrated. He changed color within 5 days of getting him under the right lighting and hydrated and we have just been gaining weight since. He just keeps getting bigger though. The guy I got him from said he was about 2, so I figured he wouldn't grow much, and just gain weight. I have another adult male, and he is nowhere near as big, but he is a rescue also so maybe he is undersized, lol. I now have 5 total rescues. I just took on 3 more. The male seems ok, he was just dirty, and I have two 7 month olds who look like 2 months. One is a leatherback and one is a silk back. I'm posting pics later in the introductions thread.

That's absolutely amazing. You've done an awesome job with him. Bet he's one happy guy now. :p

It does seem like the side of his head is very long which is a trait of a German Giant. What is his total length from tip of nose to tip of tail

im excited to hear his measurements! annnnnnnnd i love a good rescue before and after :) always so joyful. FIVE rescues??
wow, thats alot of work. I know with Lexi, it was a 24/7 job for a long time ... i wish i could start a BD rescue operation, i cant believe how much it really changes you as a person, ya know? She changed my life and i changed hers. Like you and your long nose boy ;)
BUT, i will have to stick to my day job - a girl can dream!!!
Whats his name by the way?

He is almost 21" from nose to tail. 9" from nose to vent. At its widest point his head is 3" wide. I don't have a scale to get his weight.

This guy's name is Thor. I also have a female named Loki. She was actually my first rescue. I have had Loki for close to 2 years and Thor for 10 months. I just got Kronos, an adult male leatherback, Zeus, a juvenile male leatherback and Hera, a juvenile female silk back. I posted pics of the newbies in the Introductions thread. I have started a dubia colony to feed them. I would love to start a rescue. I'm going to start breeding roaches and try to sell them to make a little extra cash and hoard the money away to maybe open a rescue down the road. Lots of work to do before that happens though.

Hello,

Thor is a nice looking dragon & does seem to have a rather wide have a wider & longer head like german giants tend to. :D
You did a great job with him!

Thanks! He sure has come a long way. Whether he has giant in him or not, he is still my boy. I'll have to wait and see if he gets even bigger. All this guy does is shed, lol.

Hello,

He definitely has come a long way! It is rewarding when they recover so nicely, too. :D

He is gorgeous. Thank you for rescuing this beardie! My wife and I rescued the two Leopard Geckos we have now. They were also very ignored, months of poop in the substrate. We also rehomed two Sugar Gliders but the owner really, really loved them. They just couldn't spend enough time anymore due to previous illness and a new child. Even convinced my mum to rehome a dachshund instead of buying a new one :).

You rock!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
