General Tso and Mushu: Getting big and impatient

I figured I'd start a nifty thread where I could dump all of General Tso's and Mushu's tidbits.

Since I know it will be asked... yes, I will post pictures, and I'll try to do it soon lol

So anyway....

General Tso

He's growing by leaps and bounds, especially in the belly area lol. He eats like it's going out of style. He ended a full body and head shed a week or so ago, and then two days ago he fully shed all four legs and his tail... Yesterday his body and head started whitening again... WOW these guys must be itchy and irritable all the time until they're full grown. I almost can't wait until he's a bit older and doesn't shed quite so often. I have never seen him fully shed all at the same time. He always has at least one big portion of himself nearing shed. He waved at a cricket once when I first got him, and hasn't waved at anything since. He has yet to show me a beard. I've caught him "flex" his beard in the mornings, but never a real beard all blacked out or anything.

He continues to enjoy riding on my shoulder while I do stuff around the house. When we watch movies in the evening, he loves to patrol the back of the couch. When something happens suddenly in the room, or he feels cold, he'll run back and jump on my shoulder. This goes on for up to an hour sometimes when he finally decides to crawl down onto my hands to go to sleep. This guy sleeps HEAVY! Most times he doesn't even wake up when I carry him back to the viv.

Mushu

She's growing nicely, but not at the same pace General Tso is. I got her from a petstore, so I don't know her *exact* age, but I assumed she was a smidge older than General Tso. She might just be a smaller dragon afterall. Her spikes are nowhere NEAR as pronouced as his. She has one very thin line of small spikes running down her side, whereas he has one line of really big spikes with a few lines of increasingly smaller spikes down his side. Around his head, he's got spikeys a'plenty, and his head is a perfect triangle. Hers is more "swept back" with much smaller, less pronounced spikes. I like their differences. She's a VERY red dragon. Not a hypo, although some of the black on her is not as dark as some dragons I've seen, she doesn't have the clear nails or the "absence" of the black pigment that General Tso does.

Mushu LOVES her crickets. I usually keep phoenix worms and crickets on hand and give them meals of each throughout the day. General Tso goes to town on both, but Mushu will actually eat maybe 10 or so phoenix worms, and then hold off til the evening meal so she can chow down on crickets. I think she loves the chase or something. It's still amazing to me how fast these guys can cross ground to close on a buggy sometimes.

Mushu did two naughty things, the first of which I'll explain here, the second I'll bring up later.

First: she pooped on Jamie. Luckily Jamie was under some covers so technically she pooped on those, but Jamie was like "what on EARTH is that smell?!" then she looked where Mushu had been and it was there. Fresh, and stinky hahahahahahahahaha. Jamie doesn't have the most "rock solid" of stomachs lol.

Impatience

I have a carpenter friend building me my "forever" enclosures for these two. Hence, I set up a temporary enclosure for the both of them for the few weeks they'd have to wait.... it's been more than a few weeks. It'll be a few MONTHS in total before it's finally complete and ready. They are outgrowing their temporary enclosure FAST. I don't really have the money to buy ANOTHER temporary enclosure and I feel bad for the little tykes, but it shouldn't be long now before everything's done so they'll have to ride it out and deal with each other for a couple more weeks and we'll all be set. Here comes the second naughty thing she did. General Tso was sitting and basking on a rock in the temporary home with his tail up in the air as usual. I'm guessing Mushu was hungry and saw his tail twitch out of the corner of her eye. I was watching the whole thing. She lunged forward and grabbed the tip of his tail in her mouth and obviously bit down hard! He went racing around the tank, and she went racing with him; his tail still in her mouth. I quickly moved in and picked her up slightly off the ground, which broke her obvious kill instincts and she let go. I've been putting antibiotic ointment on his tail after every bath and he's shed it twice since then. It's actually getting a lot better and I think he'll be able to keep it. At first I thought the tail tip was a gonner for sure! This incident made me even MORE impatient that I already was, but I guess sometimes in life you just can't have it your way.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
