General food and Viv question ...

So my bearded is right around six months old and going through the craziest of growth spurts, he's entering his second full shed in under four weeks, it's pretty insane he looks bigger each and everyday.

I have a dubia colony and he is getting full sized sub adults, and the occasional adult male. My question is what is the typical number of roaches you all feed per day to your teenage and adult bearded's? Is there such a thing as too many? He is probably going through about 6 a day, has two large solid bowel movements each day, and typically has just a few bites of his salad each day.

Also: Hides. He has never once shown any interest in going into his hide, he accidentally chased a cricket into it once and I think it freaked him out, he ran out of it quicker than he went in. In an effort to make "hunting" for him a little easier I removed his hide for the time being. Is that ok for a little while until I find something perhaps better suited for his viv? He will most likely not be entering brumation this winter as he is still only half a year old. Thoughts?

Much appreciated!

At that age just keep feeding as much as he will eat especially if growing so much as long as doesn't look overweight. Do you offer any other livefood? If he didn't use the hide no problem with taking it out. Mine didn't actually really bother with the hide until about 8 months old but we always left it in and but sleeps in it most nights now.

He gets crickets on occasion, superworms, phoneix worms as well. I have a dubia colony so that is definitely the majority of his diet. I just keep feeding him as long as he's interested, I figure he's not going to overeat. I just didn't know if there is an average to expect.

No at that age they eating machines so dont worry about overfeeding and from what you say he seems heathy, when gets bit older will need to slow down with the live food. Mine used to be crazy about dubias until he got to about 10 months now won't touch them which is a shame because they great feeders. Whatch out with the super worms I have never used them but have heard mixed reports that they not great for younger dragons so don't feed too ofter but apart from that sounds like he has a good healthy apetite, hopefully he doesn't turn into a fussy eater like mine lol

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
