Gatwick pooped and the white part isnt white?

Hi Everyone,

I have him in a 40gal tank with the right temps and a reptisun 10.0 I feed him dubias, silkworms, supers, mealies, wax worms, and I fed him a pinkie this month as he has been very skinny since I adopted him and want to fatten him up. My beardie Gatwick was not eating for a while and was not pooping either after some time he got his appetite back and will eat roaches and basically anything. lol! Until today he had not pooped for a while and it was a Massive poopage.

Well my question was that his poop looked normal but the part that is usually white is kind of like pink/orange/red, is that normal? I know some people are going to tell me to get a fecal done but I dont have the money for that right now and the Vet visit is $75 just for the vet to see him plus whatever else gets done...

Are you dusting his food with a vitamin supplement? As with humans, when a dragon takes vitamins or is discharging excess vitamins from it's system the urine or in a dragons case urate can alter in colors. So are you dusting, if so how much? Are you bathing? Supplying salad (as salad wasn't mentioned in the list of food you wrote)?

I am dusting during weekdays with fluker's calcium and on weekends I dust with rep-cal herptivite... I do supply salads containing turnip greens, mustard greens, collard greens, romaine lettuce, watermelon every so often as he likes it, bearded dragon bites, cabbage, carrots, and radish every once in a while... I have never dusted the salads as they tend not to eat the salads if they are dusted or atleast mine haven't when I have tried. is that bad?

It doesn't matter what food you dust, as long as he is getting the supplements he needs, your schedule sounds good. I'd guess it was food that caused the weird color, maybe the dragon bites. Probably nothing to worry about unless it happens a lot but try to give him extra water for a few days.

Is your calcium supplement with or without D3? And yes the dragon bites can alter the coloration of the poop but, I haven't heard it altering the color of the urate.? :?

Was it a one time incident or is it still occurring every time? Could you supply a picture of the urate please?

if he hadn't gone for a while, it isn't unusual for the urate to be discoloured, but it depends on what colour

He hadn't gone for a few days or so I believe about a week 1/2 at the most... the urate was red/orange but it did have some white parts to it (minimal though)
