I have had trouble with Stella in the past. Coccidia, weight loss, other parasites etc. A few months ago she got a negative fecal, but then went directly into brumation (young age of 6 months!)
She has been awake for a few weeks now, and is really starting to eat like her normal self (before all the disease) and gaining weight GOOD (450 grams now!!!)
My question, since she is still young, shouldn’t she be basking at hotter temps than adults do. I have her set between 95-100* but she will NOT bask hotter than 98*, she gaps briefly then runs. Stella will not sit there like she use to regulating her temp. If I leave it above 100 or so she climbs half under the light, slouching, droopy eyes and all dingy colored, laying her head down. She looks sad at that point. Therefore, I dropped the temps to where they are. She seems happier and still poops good (not runny or undigested) Why does she refuse to bask hotter than 98*??
40 Gallon Breeder
Tile substrate
Basking log
Reptisun 10.0 6 inches away, 4 months old
Temps 95-100 digi probe
Crickets dusted
Turnip greens
Baths every other day
