Hello!! I have read that beardies will sometimes "gape" to cool down, much like a dog will pant. Do they do this only when they are too hot, or can they do it to regulate temperature at any time? I ask this because I have one beardie who will gape any time he is moved quickly to different temperature (outside to inside, tank to bedroom, ect.) Also, I recently moved both dragons into new larger enclosures. I have taken temperature and their basking spot seems to be each between 99-102 degrees f. I havent put in the UVBs yet because the fixtures are in the mail (don't worry, they will not be without them for more than a week and I am taking them outside to soak up some sun to compensate for this.) They have both been kind of grumpy, especially my girl. Today she did not want to eat except for 3 or so crickets, and she usually has a huge appetite. She also has dark stress marks a lot and spends a lot of time away from her basking lamp and hides in her cave unless I take her out. Any ideas as to what this could be about..?
