Fungus

My beardie has yellow splotches on his sides and legs and a little on his belly. I took him to a herp vet (he only treats reptiles and small animals). He doesn't think it's a fungal infection but the splotches just urch me. They don't look normal to me. Should I buy Monistat cream and try it out? I can't get photos because my front camera can't focus
