My beardies is going through a full-body shed, but some areas are progressing quicker than others. from behind her eyes to 1/2" past her tail she is showing signs of shed. Her head is any day away from shedding. This is her first shed with me. I heard some people use a soft tooth brush to help along the shed? Is this helpful to the beardie or just even itchier? Do you recommend this?

I've been bathing her daily and occassionally using some of my Aloe plant on her... making sure to wash it all off before replacing her in her enclosure.

Beardies do shed in stages, so that would account for why you're only seeing some parts of body in shed . You don't neccessarily need to help it along. If you see that she is absolutely miserable and some shed is a bother to her, you can use a very soft toothbrush to help. Be very careful though, you don't want to help too much ,so as not to damage new scales below the shed. The bathing will help with the shedding. You could even do a few baths a day if that will help.

Just in case you don't know, beardies can become a little should I say on the tempermental side during a shed. If you notice her appetite slowing, don't worry it's perfectly normal.

Good Luck...they are always such a joy.. ..during a shed!!

Dawn :D

Thanks, that was my next question. She didn't much yesterday or today. Perfect timing because I took her to school with me to get her weighed... even with her slow appetite lately, she's gained 25g in the past 3 weeks!! YAY! wait.. that is a "yay" situation, right?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
