Good Evening All,

Fruit Flies? Yes or No as a good alturnative since i live in FL and Roaches seem to be the anti christ. Either going to start a Roach colony or try that is just as easy to set up and a great nutritional alternative to both Crickets and Roaches.

Any advice sugesstions helpful.

I've never used fruit flies, but aren't they very small? Seems new baby dragons could eat flightless fruit fly's, but I can't see larger dragons eating them as they are so small.

Fruit flies would be too tiny as an alternative feeder for dragons. They do make great feeders for smaller reptiles and spiders though.
Clear (a member here) recently contacted the FL agriculture department and they said that Hissers and Discoids were legal because they are considered native to the state. Discoids are much like Dubia roaches, just a tad bit smaller and faster. You could look into aquiring some of that species, but I would double check with the agriculture department and with Wildlife and Game as well to make sure they absolutely are legal. Depending on who you speak with in each department, you may get a different answer.

For some unknown reason, I have all the links. All the research is done at the University of Florida and they are the authority on it

It only states "Prohibited" and doesn't go into penalties. I'm sure if were to be enforced, they would start by taking your roaches and destroying them and maybe some kind of fine. It would have to go to a state level to be enforced, I doubt your local law enforcement would even bother. It's the silver truck with Florida law enforcement on the side of it you have to worry about.
