Frozen/thawed pinkies

Do beardies usually take f/t pinkies? I've seen monitors take f/t, but not beardies.

(I know that pinkies are to be used in moderation. I think Budo is starting to lose a bit of weight due to his brumation fast, so I'm not worried about high fat levels right now.)

I wouldn't. But thats just me personally. I've been told by my vet and others on here that it's not a good option mainly due to the high chance of impaction. After my Bella laid eggs she was very skinny, but after a couple good doses of jumbo hornworms she's back to normal! I would feed something like hornworms rather than pinkies.

Okay, that's a good idea. I'll go with some kind of worms.

Other than hornworms, any suggestions as to worms I can use that are somewhat high in fat but low in chitin (provide no impaction risk)?

If Budo isnt fully grown yet it could be just growing, fattening up and growing some more. Stay away from f/t pinkies. Always possible parasite problems that way.

Thanks, guys. I've decided on a couple butters and hornworms. I hear the hornworms' bright colors can help with reluctant eaters. LOL, they also look kind of cool, I think I may keep one and let it turn into a moth.

If your dragon is big enough that a pinky is close to the space between eyes rule it shouldn't be an impaction problem. Its not a good staple because of fatty liver, but a pinky is like eye space size for an adult.
