fresh broken tooth

one of my female beardies delilah, must had biten the resin exo-terra water bowl and broke a tooth.my question is can i wait a few days to take her to the vet, should i rush her to an E.R. vet or is there something that i could do instead. ive had beardies for most my life and never had this problem before. upon finding this i have pulled all of my water bowls and replaced them with plastic type bowls. please help !!

Oh that is too bad. Is there any blood right now?
Does she seem to be in any pain, & can she eat?
Unless there is a lot of blood or she seems to be in a lot of pain, you can wait for a few days to get her to the vet. She should be fine until then.

she stopped bleeding and no pain unless bothered ive been syringe feeding her reptaid. but now i think its a broken jaw. jaw seems loose.

There usually is not a whole lot they can do for a broken jaw, either. Is it crooked?

slightly crooked as it doesnt shut all the way. taking to vet i was told that they may need to wire jaw shut, and to feed her some meat baby food, has anyone heard of this done before. my dragons are my kids.

Well, the jaw could be somewhat set & wired shut, but that would leave her unable to eat & you would need to assist feed her through a tube.
I hope you are able to get her taken care of.
Do you have a UVB light currently?

her jaw seams to set it self and shes eating fine, dandilion greens, superworms, goliath worms and crickets and even her fav dubias with no problem. my husbandry skills is on the money unlike some people, i spare no expense for my kids(beardies). when times get rough they eat first and best medical care. my setup is a home made 120gal(measurements 4x2x2) with sliding glass doors, i use mostly exo-terra products, i use a 4 foot tube powered by the the exo-terra daylight cycle timer which mimics sun rise and sun set, in winter i keep my house at 80 degrees so there is no draft any where. i use rapashy suppliments and exo-terra suppliments. i have only had lilah for a month, now cause of the jaw, i am feeding everyone high calcium foods to build bones, silkworms, goliaths and rapashys emergency calcium to reverse any mbd. if one gets it than all six get the preventive treatment as well, i live in upstate new york when its warm outside they get natural sunlight also. i take my dragons to the vet for yearly treatment to check for parisites(so far none found), and bone health always clean build of health and weight levels perfect. like i stated earlier i never had this problem before, my vet said she would be fine. i want to thank you for your help.

I am glad to hear that your tanks are good sized, that is important! I am happy to know that she is eating well also & can chew with no problems right now.
The Repashy formula is very good, though I have never tried it the reviews on it are great.
So are you using the Reptiglo 10 tube bulbs then?

Hello,

Thank you. Just some extra information on the Reptiglo bulbs. They really are not the best bulbs to use, as they don't have the correct wavelength of UVB spectrum. The wavelength is not conducive to D3 synthesis which means the calcium is not able to be absorbed very well.

what tube is the best, i have used mercury vapor bulbs in the past. but of all the florecent bulbs which would you recommend personally.

Well, there are only a couple of brands of UVB tube bulbs that I can recommend. The Reptisun 5, 10, or the Arcadia D3 12% tube.

arcadia d3 i have never heard of this bulb. where could i get this bulb if i was interested in it. my lovely young lady is doing fantatstic like nothing ever happened, shes tougher than me.

The Arcadia D3 is a bulb you can find primarily in Europe, & the UK, but here in the US it is not readily available unfortunately.

she's fool of spit and vinager, no..she is a lover. she's doing wonderfull, better an better each day. i think she will pull through. i do want to thank you for taking the time to help her and i. also on the advice on the exo-terra bulbs, replaced everyone of them with repti.sun 10.0 , i will have to try and order the arcadia ones the next time, i try to give only the best for my kids. like i stated before, they are my kids. i'm a 35 year old man with no fleshy kids only scaley ones, and thats how i like it, again thank you!!
